Tyre Pressure for High Speeds?

Post by viperbl » Thu Sep 06, 2007 10:31 am

Does anyone know what kind of pressure I should have in my tyres for high speeds?

I have RS4 wheels with Michelin Sport Contact Extra Load 255/35/18's?

Cheers

At high speed the tyre pressure will increase due to the temperature increasing the air pressure. -2psi from recommended pressure, or fill tyres with Nitrogen, available from lots of tyre places. Nitrogen pressure will not increase with temperature increases, like air. :D

Just found this on Michelin's website ...

They say for the RS4, 36 front and 33 rear ... for high speed driving, 41 all round ...

I always find so much totally contradicting advice re tryre pressures - I mean some saying deflate and some inflate can't get any more opposing, that I leave mine the same all the time!
