MRC appreciation......again

Post by Matt_H » Tue Aug 14, 2007 7:56 am

Guys
I guess this type of post has been done once or twice before - Had a trip up to MRC yesterday to see Doug, first time I'd been there, so was surprised at how small it was considering the volume of cars that seem to go through the place!

Got an oil change and healthcheck done, usual issues, DV's, MAF etc but other than that all seemed well with a healthy MAF figure after a new one was fitted! Had some H&R ARB's fitted as well, but haven't really had a chance to test them out due to the weather!

Anyway, just wanted to say what a pleasure it was, the man knows his S and RS Audi's and it proved a very instructive couple of hours for me and I learned a lot - its nice to be able to see Doug at work and talk to him as he's doing things, gives you confidence that the work is being done properly.

So, all in all, a big thumbs up to Doug and MRC - I know where I'll be going in future, and it won't be the Audi Stealers!!

Matt

I'll second the "learning" bit. Poor Doug must have been sick of all my questions by the time he finished servicing my car.

What must he have thought when I said "cuz the seats are very tight when trying to move em back and forth I thought let me add some grease to the rails - and so went and put some WD40 on the rails" At that point some tumble weed roled past the workshop

Also, as I hate driving, my toy to play with - a Honda CBR F Sport

The WD40 cure-all. I heard two squirts in the petrol tank is worth 10BHP.

When I took my car to Doug I knew from the moment he plugged in the laptop that he was a man he really did know his stuff.

There are a lot of bullshitters in the car trade but he is very certainly not one of them.

Just wish I'd taken up the offer of a re-map while I was there. :bash:

I am suprised that Julian hasnt chopped a hole in his bonnet, taken the bottom of the air box off, and have the rest bolted to the bonnet for maximum air flow!!
