RS4 Engine Pull Tools & Longer 5th/6th gear parts
RS4 Engine Pull Tools & Longer 5th/6th gear parts
So, thats what I get for playing with the Stig, a leaking oil cooler! Dam.(Stone chip maybe????)
So, gonna try and get the oil cooler pressure tested tomorrow (Doug, can you get these repaired at all? its the one I got off you a few months back?)
My main question is do I need any special tools etc for this job? I was thinking mainly of a special adaptor you need to pressure test the coolant system maybe??
I am going to pull it to get to the gearbox because 4th gear syncro is on its way out, and I want to put that longer 5th and 6th gear in.
Am I correct in saying I need these parts from the 01E diesel box?
01E 311 362 L, 0.6 ratio
01E 311 362 D, 0.56 ratio.
Do I need to check my box code to see if these will fit? Any suggestions for where to buy these from??

Probably not worth repairing if holed, IMO. I'd want to be sure no loose bits inside after the repair...viperbl wrote: So, gonna try and get the oil cooler pressure tested tomorrow (Doug, can you get these repaired at all? its the one I got off you a few months back?)

Dave, I may be a little optimistic, but I am gonna try for VMAX!!
Gonne love to see how the new gears affect the speed ... plus, we may just crack the 200 in germany if we find a long enough bit of road
Here are some pics, rain went off again so managed to get the gearbox off just there ... anyone know where the sump plug is on the box???
