dsg car tuning - torque, tcm etc

anyone know hard info about the dsg gearbox - i know they have an official low torque rating and i know they can take a lot more, but
i have read that the tcm will signal the ecu to back off if the tcm sees more torque than they are rated for - so no point going over about 360-380nm so i read.
question is, is this true? most of the tuners dont seem to think so, and can the engine ecu be programmed to just ignore the tcm info telling it to back off?
i know quite a few tuners are using upto 380lb/ft 520nm max (single turbo 3.2 v6 conversions) without apparently modifying the dsg box but i wonder if these mods include telling the ecu to ignore the tcm
where is this heading? i was looking at a hybrid turbo 2.0 pd140 which will produce upto 240-245hp, but stacks of torque but i want to use the dsg box
