551BHP RS4 Saloon???

Just been back to Awesome GTI rolling road ...

Previous Results where 376 BHP & 449 ftlb at the wheels.
Thats was with RS4 engine, MRC map and millteck

Now I have KO4/RS6 turbos, injectros, fuel pump, FMIC etc
Results where 452 BHP & 413 ftlb at the wheels ...

So, big jump in HP, but, whats with the torque!!?!??! at the seat of the pants it feels well torquier when boost comes on ... weird??

For flywheel HP, I know there are a lot of opinions on this, but here is what I have used

376 * 22% = 459 BHP (seems normal for stock RS4 with chip and exhaust)
452 * 22% = 551 BHP

Doesn't sound right to me - then what do I know.

Wish I had known you were over as it is only down the road - never mind will have to get over to the island one of these days.

THINK you can log torque in vagcom. Might be worth investigating.

Vag com torque logs are as useful as replacing indicator fluid...

Sorry Dave, shud have posted! Will do next time :)

Great Day at VMAX and glad I could put some faces to names now!!

Managed 180 MPH, was hoping for a little more, seemed a little hesitant to go faster on some runs ... I have taken some logs, which I will email you Mihnea when I get them sorted, maybe you would be so kind to take a look and let me know your thoughts??

Only 2MPH behind my best run a few VMAX's back in the RS6. Great performance though.

PiSSed off i couldn't make it this time, as it's the 1st one i've mised for 2yrs, however the wife would not let me wriggle out of a damned wedding we had to attend

The RT12 did the business though at 207MPH :o

Right guys,

Take a look at this guys ... here is the new dyno ...

my first dyno last year had 448ftlb of torque, it now seems to have 413ftlb!!! whats going on!?!??!

376 WHP and 448 ftlb of torque (Stock RS4 engine with KO4 turbos and stock injectors etc)

452 WHP and 413 ftlb of torque (Stock RS4 engine with KO4/RS6 turbo's, larger injectors/fuel pump/fmic)

Rich, go back to Awesome and tell them to do their job right and measure your car properly. The RPM signal wasn't picked up correctly, do you think your car really revs up to 9000 RPM or whatever is shown there on the graph??? False RPM measurement means false torque measurement, therefore false power calculation derived from torque. I'm definitely not impressed by Awesome and the way they measured your car...

That did confuse the hell outa me, but because the peak HP seemed to be around 7k, I thought that might be right, but then the max torque at nearly 5k seemed well off, since I would say its more 3.8k-4k.

Where do you guys take ur cars down south? might use the same rollers you all use next time to get a good comparison.

Scrap that printout and ask them for a refund, it's worthless. I can't recommend any places in particular, I had dynoed my car in Birmingham on what seemed to be a pretty decent and conservative dyno (Dyno Dynamics) with lots of load compared to Dynojets. So you might want to consider getting it dynoed there?

Cheers, I might do that next time I am over ...

I have emailed Awesome, give them a chance to rectify my run, since in fairness the last dyno run seemed ok and they have always been friendly and helpfull in the past.

and, dam, I still don't know the BHP! lol!!

Maybe they printed out a v-tec engine, or have they ripped out the rpm limiter
It's a weird dyno print not very relaible, fotoshopped ??

I use Charlie at Surrey Rolling Road (look him up on google). He is a nice guy and uses a dyno dynamics. I have had the results of his runs compared on 2 occassions with 2 different cars with another well respected dynapak hub reader (meaning more accurate) and they have been virtually identical readouts.
