Notchy boxes, does Q shift make it worse?

I am upgrading my S4 presently and one item on the agenda is the shifter. However the 6 speed is not the smoothest of items and can give trouble 2nd & 3rd. Just wondered if anyone noticed things getting worse after they fitted a Q shift.

To be honest ..its confusing because higher rev holding during gear changes for me is the smoothest change. Driving like a granny produces the notchiness...Strange...? Logix would suggest a quicker and more forced gearchange would put more pressure/wear on the syncro?

A short shift will make a big difference to the feel of the gear-change....however if you want a better gearchange then you need a Drivetrain stabilser. This removes the drivetrain shunt by supporting the gearbox. AmD do them

do you know if they make something similar for the S2 because all seem to suffer with a notchy gearbox

Hi Greg,

Sorry, cannot help you?? I had 4 S2's and all had less than smooth gear changes. On one I lost 3rd all together.

I lost 1st and 2nd on my S4 once.
£6k warranty gearbox change sorted that though.
