I know! Can't wait - don't want to hijack this thread but my RS4 project is effectively acting as a test bed for exactly what I am going to do to the engine I have for the UR. I bought an RR that was in need to some TLC at good value and have stripped it down. Got all of the S2 subframes and running gear, S4 gearbox, big FMIC, all RS4 intake etc etc

It all mates up nicley in the UR (I have put a 6 speeder in my 10 UR so know what to expect) and just have to fabricate engine mounts.

Have some trouble clearing the steering rack with the downpipes so might have to either get some tubular manifolds made especially or modify the downpipes themselves, not sure yet.

Have the ecu (which has had all of the ESP stuff disabled) and loom.

The car has big twin pipes already to the back box so just need to remove the cats and make sure there is no back pressure.

Hoping to make the car look as std as possible and fit it out with some nice trick bits (sat nav, electric seats etc) to make it a comfortable daily driver.

The prospect of up to 600 bhp in that thing (1250 kgs) really makes my mouth water....... :FIREdevil:

I think the new body thing will be the biggest upgrade.

I'd love to find a B7 Quattro with a trashed engine. Not very likely I know :(

@Damo, does the FMIC fit a UR quattro or have i misunderstood? My brother has a UR with modded s2 engine in it, but needs a better intercooler. The rs2 option needs a lot of work for it to be fitted. Sorry for hijak

You are right, I have a 10v UR with bigish power and we had to have a charge cooler which then went into an intercooler. There was no room in the front for any other type of bigger cooler.

Thing is, the 2.7 engine is 2 cylinders shorter the 5 cylinder so there is miles of room to put radiators, intercoolers etc. Just need to fabricate brackets.

For the work it takes to get an S2 engine in the car, I see the 2.7 conversion being no more difficult and you get the potential of much more power and drivability. :rocker:

it's a nice conversion but it's also a spectacular way to knock 20 grand off the value of the QS

I don't think it's a real SQ. Then fitting a V8 in it should be loads easier than a V6 twin turbo, just because it's so much easier to get manifolds/downpipes to clear the steering rack... probably not an easy conversion and I'm nowhere near saying what he did is a piece of pi$$ though!!!

Yep I too think it is a replica can`t see any one doing this to a real sport. However he has gone to great lengths and changed the windscren rake, to make it look more like the "real thing".
Nice conversion, got me thinking about a spare ur with a clapped engine I have here.
