Anyone ever heard of or used this company?

I know MRC and MTM are highly rated for remaps etc. but there is a company called ANGEL Tuning. www.angeltuning.co.uk
which is local to me.

As I'm, in the fire service i dont pay this company any VAT so a remap would cost £310 all in. My mate also in the service is wondering about getting his BM X5 4.4 V8 remapped with them

Just wondered if anyone has ever heard of them or had their car mapped by them?

Cheers for your thoughts guys.

Dan

Id personally go for the MRC custom remap. Its will be tailored to your car, and you can be sure that they will do a good job as they specialise in only audi vw cars.

ITs worth the travel time, and also they will give more than a 45 bhp (what angel tuning are offering) increase.
That is, in terms of torque and power. Also when they custom map it to your car, you will have the benefits of getting the most out of your own car, they will also pressure check the car and do all the necessary health checkes that your car does importantly need. A non specialist tuner is not likely to have the kit or the specific knowhow to carry all of this out in the way a specialist can.

MTM - well they would be charging twice the price MRC are for a chip thats not even a custom remap.

MRC are excellent at what they do, and my car has been mapped by the, and they done a great job as im sure all guys who have had work carried out by them will agree.

Seriously. Take a long drive there and get the best map your car could ever want.

Have a look at the recent posts about boost & the FATS database in VAGCOM section. This clearly shows the boost levels that a couple tuners are using (AMD, MRC, MTM) and the timing on each of their maps too. MRC run quite low boost (good for turbo life) & high timing (Achieved by lowering boost) which is good for lowwered power & infact power all the way through the rev range! Their map is certainly what I would like my car to run. When you take it to another tuner, you just dont know what to expect. That said though, their map could be excellent, and it is near half the cost of others out there.

You could quiz Angel on what they do, what boost you would be running peak, what boost you would be running at max revs etc and post back to see what people think. You could always buget a health check in at a specialist to be pressure checked first before you go for the remap - but to be honest you will then only fractionally be bettering the generic remap price of some of the specialist Audi tuners.

Talk to them and suss them out, how many S4's have they done, any Dyno plots available Etc.

Or you could do the sensible thing with your precious metal, spend another £190 (Plus fuel and time I know) and take it to MRC.

Should of mentioned, expert(!) health check before remap and downside is £3,000+ for new turbo's if they screw up.

This is what i sent them....I know there is a small part of cr*p in there about poor maps on an S4 but want them to try and prove me wrong wityh a good answer!....

Hi,

Are your remaps custom or generic?

Have you done many Audi S4 remaps?

What boost would i expect at peak and what boost at max revs?

Do you have any dyno plots that can verify your power figures?

Can you do a rolling road printout after mapping the car?

Do you offer a money back gaurantee if not completely satisfied with the map like other tuning companies do?

Sorry about all of the questions but the S4's are prone to 'killing' the turbos if a poor or incorrect remap is installed.

How much is it for the remap, as i'm a fire fighter in Market Weighton for Humberside Fire & Rescue Service.

Regards,

Dan F

They seem quite popular on the BM site for tuning Diesels, not sure re S4's though. MRC gets my vote.

The response i got to what i posted up in the thread was....

Quote:
Sorry, Dan Forman, your car is too old for us, we only work on cars 5-6 years old at max

Angel Tuning

Cant really see what difference 2 years on top of their age limit with a lower than average mileage S4 would be?!

Sounds like a cop out - may be indicative that their map wouldn't give you good results compared to other tuners - and they don't want you asking for your money back!

Thats just typical of a company that cant back up their claims. Iys not very professional them fobbing you off like that. Its just that they couldnt probably answer the question. They probably would have just hooked your car up and put a generic map they bought. Hell I could do that for you for free . But I wouldnt guarantee it LOL. thats why I go to MRC. Those guys know what they are doing and do an excellent job. Please mate. Get down there. You wont be dissapointed.
