OMP brake pads

Post by david7m » Thu Oct 12, 2006 2:53 pm

Hi

Any had these/know if they are any good? I need new rear pads on my S3, Audi pads are about £31, but OMP are about £28 from eBay. Wasn't the price difference, just wondered if they were going to be any better...

Cheers.

If you're thinking of buying upgraded pads buy a full set or fronts only, never rears only.Different pads have different friction coefficients at differing points in the operating temperature range, and whereas this doesn't present a problem with the front brakes which take the vast majority of the braking forces, fitted to the rear only they may cause instability under braking.
I've used the omp pads on one of my old cars, at that time they were manufactured by ferodo and simply repackaged. They were ok but in my opinion there are much better pads available for road cars. I like the ebc greens. Try brakes4u.com for prices.
