Anyone know anything about the Race N75 valve...

Post by Nige_RS4 » Mon Mar 03, 2003 10:33 am

... on an S4 (see link below)? I have read numerous reports about this on AW, most of them are negative on chipped cars. One said it was the OEM N75 valve from the 90's S2. Any info appreciated.

Simon, thanks. Have you got one fitted to your S3?

the solenoid valve will be similar to many turbo charged engines, i know fiat and saab also have motronic systems on them that use these types of valves. different in carnations of course but the end result is the same with all of them.

So, after all, has anybody tried this valve in a stock or chipped S4 or RS4?

It won't affect the performance of the S4 or RS4 engines since they operate on a measured boost control loop. It works for a TT and other turboed 1.8 engines because they don't have the boost sensor.

Don't forget that the S4/RS4 ECU is much more sophisticated than other cars, so these 'mechanical tricks' won't work. You get more out of the S4/RS4 by remapping. Yes if the remap needs the wastegate to stay closed above 1.5 bar then you will need to make changes - serious ones.
