New Vs old Air Filter

Post by Paulm » Wed Jul 12, 2006 7:29 pm

Did a couple logs using my old dirty OEM air filter and then a couple with a newly cleaned Piper X filter ( NOT OILED )

They were exactlly the same. Just goes to show the audi filter does not restrict flow at all even when old and dirty.

Wonder what a new clean OEM filter would record?

Cheers Paul,
yeh, ive yet to do mine, but will do some fats and logs with ITG and also with a hole in the airbox (there are some on AW but id like to do my own logs) would be good to see if the sportec hole makes much difference :)
May even ditch the airbox and go itg + pipe with heatsheild, but thats another day :)

Yeh, ive got the jc 60/80 itg which is a few cm bigger each way than the smaller one that the s-flo and other people have used i think? so i might be quite tight inside the roof of the airbox and dont want to strangle it, so i might have to ditch anyway no matter what, but ill mod my airbox then do some before/after runs and then look at how i can fit the cone filter.
