Post by itaplikeabiatch » Fri Apr 07, 2006 1:01 pm

anyone know anything about this turbo hybrid?

read an article about a guy in the US with one in his s4, he has all the relevant rs4 components as well and claims 500bhp, although he hasn't had it dynoed.

Sorry for the crap response, I was in a rush. Grizz is in the process of fitting hybrids to his s4, I'm sure he'll be along soon enough to explain.

Do a search as well.Plenty of activity, Grizz, MRC and Dialynx are fiddling with them.

Hi , well i'am fitting full rs6 turbos not hybrids , i know that " tony " has them on his rs4 with a fmic & mtm code he's got 540bhp .
MRC are fitting a set soon on a standard s4 , them they will mod it too full rs4 spec so they can see what power they can get at each stage .

grizz, do the RS6 turbos fit straight on or do you need the MTM manifolds?

RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

Mihnea,

Have you got a compressor map or have you driven/ridden in an 2.7 RS6 turbo'd car yet? From the engine spec of the RS6 they certainly spool a lot lower than the RS4 K04s, it produces 400+lbs from 1900 to 5600, I realise its a bigger capacity engine but thats pretty impressive at Audis preferred low level .8bar boost. Also indicates Audi perpencity to fit the smallest turbos possible to give a fat low/mid curve.

Yes Kevin, I have a comp map, the maiin difference with straight RS6 turbos is that the hot sides/turbines were designed to be "filled" by 2.1 liters worth of exhaust gas, which is why they are so torquey at low revs on an RS6, on an 2.7T, there will be no boost at all below 4k RPMs I think, although this will be something that we'll see once my second engine is built (rods, heavily ported NA heads, knife-edged crank, LWFW, dropped compression, RS4 intake package, blah blah blah blah blah), because that's where a nice pair of zero-clearanced straight RS6 turbos will be going... goal is 600+, we'll see if that's achievable or not...

Cheers,

Mihnea
