i did a little search on the net and found a place not to far away from me that could and would make me a set of down pipes without precats or main cats in stainless steel fitted for £700..that also included the origenal holes for the lambda, egt sensors..thats fitted and inc,the vat..
they also have fitting centres in bristol, cardiff, leeds, plymouth and swansea..also there guaranteed for as long as u own the car and can be transfered if u sell it..

My dad had a cat back system made for his VR4 by Top Gear in Hayes..
The welding looked like it was done by a blind man...
Not saying they are all like that but would like to see some of their work first..

You also need to be careful where the lambda's are placed if you are removing the guts of the cats........ I know free flowing cats require lsensors to be moved to prevent ecu errors being thrown.

my S4 is a 98 model and the lambda,s are up by the precats..if i decide to have them done i have told them i want a replica of my oem dwn pipes but without any cats.. all sensor,s in same place as before..this place is called longlife stainless steel exhausts, and although they say they are part of the topgear family i think they are a franchise..i am back there in the morn to see the guy who will do the work so ill keep you informed..
