Yeah I used them for my Bmw. They can 4 wheel laser align well but would rip you off if there was any work needed. I bought a new toe adjusting bolt? for a fiver just in case the one that was stiff snapped. It practically dropped out to fit new one in under 10mins and they charged me £120 for it????

120 quid - depends how far you want to travel. I used ETS in Derby. Very fast and cost me 40 notes - 20 for front and 20 for rear adjustment.

I phoned the steeler and they wanted a mimimum of 192 quid.

Dave - try APS in Brackley - http://www.autops.co.uk/index.php - Ed, Nathan and Andy's new venture - latest gear, had mine done there yesterday. Very reasonable rates, friendly guys, first class job. Ideal :-)

I need an alignment doing on my S3 - whats the difference between a company like APS, AMD or QST (for example) and someone like Micheldever who also has laser equipment. The tuners seem to charge far more than the likes of Micheldever (40 quid or so).

I suppose I went to Stealth because they have years of experience setting up road and race cars. You tell them what you want and they take as long as it takes to get you there.

All the tyre fitters that I have been to are basically by the book, and if it's within tolerance then it's fine.... Sometimes you just want a little more.

I'd say it's the difference between a generic "laser allignment" and the use of Beissbarth / VAG 1813F "special tool", designed an opertated specifically to get VAG vehicles right - including the ability to go on-line and download the settings for the latest vehicles....

I did go for a custom setup at AMD last summer - sat there for half a day then they told me they couldnt do it - I would have to wait fro Nathan to come back (he was off)!

Might give APS a try

I agree with Clive. Give Ed, (Ex AMD), at AP Services a call. They recently fitted H&R Coilovers, H&R ARB's and carried out a cambelt change for me.

Great bunch of Guys, and always have time to discuss YOUR car.

Very reasonable rates, and we all know their credentials.
