Can you use a blow-off valve with a 1.8t A4?

I have a Audi A4 1.8t Quattro and want to put a blow-off valve on it. Does anybody know what all you need to run a blow-off valve, or how to do it?

What's wrong with the diverter valve fitted as standard?

i was told that the whoosh noise u get from these is counter productive cos all the energy u generate in the boost gets vented 2 atmosphere which in turn makes the turbo,s work twice as hard cos they got 2 start the spin up all over again or summit like that...
