Assuming B5 S4 2.7 Bi turbo.....
Quick answer... NOS
Lifted from Other post..... But not sure a reliable 450bhp could be described as cheap or quick....
1 = Chip. 315
2 = Chip + Catback. 325
2+ = Chip + full exhaust. 350
3- = K04 + RS4 pipework. 380
3 = Full K04 kit, Injectors, MAF, Y pipe. Spark Plugs, adapters or RS4 fuel rail. 420
4 = Hybrids + full stage 3. 480

Stage 3 (with fuelling) and a FMIC will get you close to 450bhp on the S4 2.7 - might need some head work / cams though. IMHO, it's more about the delivery of torque than outright BHP.

I agree....which is why I am doing Intake manifold and heads. Think the improvement in flow will provide a much better delivery. The early Intake manifold is pretty rubbish IMHO.
Am amazed that the US guys can get that much power from stock engines with hybrids. Think the later S4's must have a better Intake or exhaust manifolds or similar to allow this much flow. I also take US dyno results with a pinch of salt...but their fats results are stunning.
Would like a pair of GT turbos myself but its hard work and a lot of money wit all the custom bits required...

Remember american s4s have different (shorter) gearing to us, and as such the results aren't directly comparable

Errr, don't think you'll find that is correct. All tt S4s have the same gearing..... GB codes are ESU and DSY, difference being Eur box has oil cooler. RS4 box has different 3rd and 4th gear ratios.

Changing heads for ones with significantly larger ports (NA head or RS4 heads) will move the power band further up the rev range. With larger ports + different IM + higher lift cams like the RS4 ones, you will loose at bottom and mid range but gain at the top.

Yes thats true - especially with the RS4 cams I have found. All the power comes at 3500rpm upwards and then it pulls closer to 7k rpm which I like as it provides more of a kick.....

well, Mihnea certainly thought so (
http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=49921 )
also quoting from that page
This now includes information on the US A6tt and S4tt 01E gearboxes and the Allroad 01E gearbox.
doesn't mention european S4TT/A6TT.
I was just going on what I'd thought and heard anyway...my understanding was that on an american S4 you wouldn't get above 100mph in 3rd.
sorry to take your thread off topic Rob

the gearing is the same. I have the same speed at the same rpms as the the NA S4's. I think one can do low 3 FATS if you just run stupid high boost and loose some weight. Its not good for longevity but can be done. I run now 1.45bar to 1.25bar which feels pretty good in cold weather. 1.65bar to 1.5bar is just plain cracy and it does spin the k04 compressor more than it was meant to, but sub 3 FATS was something I thought would be fun for a moment.

I think Mihnea is wrong.....or worse still he drives a TIP.
I did a speed check when I first got my S4 and both 3rd and 4th were matching the NA guys revs/speed as we were discussing FATS runs. This was when I was running 17" factory rims, matched up pretty accurately.

I also checked ETKA for both Euro and NA parts and both GBs use same gears and FD ratio.

Stage 3 + water injection. Up and running now. Have yet to see a dyno run yet but suspect it is very close to 450Bhp.
Come back in a couple of months, there will probably be a few more S4s running close to those figures.....as daily drivers. A few combos that come to mind....
Stage 3 + FMIC.
Stage 3 + NA head conversion.
RS6 hybrid powered S4.
