HOW TO: Change your door lock pins?

Post by rs4-sson » Sun Apr 10, 2005 12:37 pm

Hi

Any help and guidance on how you change the door pins (the cyclindrical fellas that go up and down near the flashing LED) would be gratefully appreciated. Tried to twist them (unscrew) but they don't budge. Do I need to take the door panel off? I hope not - I'm not that handy....

Any ideas?

Cheers

No ideas guys? No ex-Audi techs on board that have an answer?

Cheers

From memory, the lock button is part of the lever which connects to the lock, so to change it, you need to change the rod and clip as they usually break when undone. And yes, the door panel will need to be removed to get at it, but once the panel is off, the door shell is actually very exsposed with the window up.
