Ok...so those people who have put spacers on their cars, where did you get longer locking wheel nuts from ??
Need some longer than original ones now the Movits are fitted...(even though theres no spacers involved)

Why's that then Dave ?
I brought mine for the VW from BR Motorsport, who if I recall correctly are based at Castle Combe.
Try doing a google for them.
They will want to know how much longer you need them.
I brought a set including locking bolts from them for less than 40 quid.

Well, when the Movit guys were fitting the front wheels, they replaced all the standard wheel bolts because there were less than 6 revolutions of the bolt before it was tight....the standard ones had about 4 revolutions if I remember.....they replaced them with slightly longer bolts that retained the 6+ revolutions for safety reasons.
Just another reason why I was highly impressed with them...how many places would have just tightened the old ones up and not said a thing??

It does sound like they are a good bunch of people to deal with.
When I put mine on I am sure I have loads more than 6 turns.
It was well worth a mention though, so thanks.
I will have to check them at the weekend just ot put my mind at rest now (somehow though I think if they were going to give probs it might have happened at Spa, eh

I have tried 4 car accessory stores for longer locking nuts.
I cannot find any that are 14 ml wish 1.5 thread gradient and long enough. There are plenty 12 ml ones long enough but not 14 ml, Audi don't do longer ones.
I would suggest anyone with spacers or large front discs check the number of turns their front nuts can actually achieve. As it is very important for long term strength of the Wheels affixing to the hub.
6 turns alone are a very small level of grip for this car.
I will try for BR Motorsport ASAP. Thanks JohnW, you obviously have acquired big Nuts.
Any other suggestions appreciated!
Gordon
If there is anyone out there with longer than standard locking nuts please let us know where to buy them.

oh thank god. It is essential for us foreigners . English is not my first language you know.
I will grant it that I have forgotten most of my first language
I never told you but I have trouble reading, never mind spelling.
I brought Andy with me to compensate and read the road signs , but it still wasn't easy. Sorry.
What mistakes I don't know what you are talking about.
Please get a spellchecker on this machine ( I have asked before)
Lets not loose the thread though.
Any assistance on Long Nuts required
Where can we get Longer locking Wheel nuts easily.

bolts /lockers come fromm amd with spacers....
Whilst you can get spacers anywhere, seems not many places will risk selling the bolts incase they get the wong fit.
you have to get the bolt, seat,, and length right.....

Gav, your Location mate.
Is that something you saw on channel 39 and have since perfected ??

I tell ya, the only stuff me and Gav saw on channel 39 wasn't good...involved some guy getting his sack pierced by a woman with a safety pin.
- and it got worse from there!

I have ordered from Select. Size is 14 ml 1.5 ml thread gauge and length is 35 ml
I will have to get a new Wrench as the bolt heads are 19 ml not 17 ml as were the old ones.
Have you had to order a new wrench as a result of this this?
I also ordered 8 new bolts for the rear as I feel it will be better getting 12 turns rather than 7 on the back.
The fronts get 11 turns with the 35 ml replacements.
Any comments appreciated.
Thanks Gordon
