KW Suspension`

Post by Tomson » Tue Sep 07, 2004 9:55 am

Thinking of upgrading the suspension on the RS4.

What are peoples thoughts on KW suspension, seems cheaper than the rest and I notice the MTM RS6 with KW stickers on. I am a massive fan of H&R coilovers, having them on my first corrado, they offered amazing handling without too much of a change from standard comfort. The Koni's on my second Corrado were also good but were much more harsh.

The RS4 is our only car and the roads in Cheltenham are the worst in the country - so before I purcahse a H*R kit what are people thoughts, experiences on the KW stuff. I know a lot of the Veedub guys are now using them.

KW coilovers are superb.
I had the V2's on my Golf for 2 years without a hitch.
Low and very comfortable.
Construction is solid and now they come in stainless steel so no corrosion worries.
They used Koni adjustable inserts for the rear and Alko inserts for the front.
Quality kit, TUV approved, very big in germany and the US, not so common here.
I certainly recommend them over H&R, esp for the price.

Tom,

I am having the double adjustable RS4 kit fitted end of next week to the S4. The 600bhp MTM RS4 used this kit. Be careful because the standard kit will not fit on the rear if you have Movit brakes as I do. They do a kit to fit with the Movit rear brakes. Talk to Keith. I will let you know what I think and you can try it too.

Cheers mate, would love to have a try - we must meet up soon. Seems ridiculous as we live about 2 miles away from each other. Mind you did have a good look around your motor @ prescott on Sunday, we were parked two rows back. Brakes are lovely mate, not much clerance though !!! and from what I could see the door pods were working well with the interior as well.

Would have called for some banter, but were allready late for bar-b-q. It had taken joe much longer than planned to eat a massive hot dog and get down from the top !!

Some of the cars were nuts as always and some very quick hill climbs were taking place.

Anyway would love to try the out when they are on your car m8.
