All sounds very good, but £900 for a software map for RS4 a bit steep? Anyone used them?

Same as APR isn't it
I think Mitchell has managed to remap Rob Kelly's old car so that must be the grounds for the tuning
I did hear a rumopur that they can up the rev limiter and therefore force the top speed over the 200mph
Although not sure i would be pleased with too high a rev limit!!!!

Presumably they wouldn't have to raise it that high.
I thought the RS4 gearing was such that (power permitting) 200mph would arrive at around 7000 rpm
I think the S4 is about 27mph per 1000 rpm in 6th

right try this
http://www.race-technology.com/WebPage/ ... ation.html
then the info you need is
Gear ratio in 1st gear / 2nd gear
3.500 / 1.889
Gear ratio in 3rd gear / 4th gear
1.320 / 1.034
Gear ratio in 5th gear / 6th gear
0.806 / 0.684
Gear ratio in reverse gear / final drive ratio
3.455 / 4.111
I think this makes max speed to be !!!! Not available but 178 in 5th
Mmm, glad i bothered with that

Ive been talking to Mitchell about my 225 S3. fancy some more grunt, and was going to APR anyway for the switchable benefits.
All insured up and ready to go. (Same with Porsche or Movit brakes if i ever do it...)
at the very least i have a set of APR pads coming when i chip.

I don't think so. According to the blurb, the REVO process enables them to reprogram (flash) the original ECU via the diagnostics port.
My electronics is a bit rusty, but I think flash programming is not 100% reliable.
