Finally got around to fitting this when the front of the car was off for the RS4 IC's. I haven't put many miles on the car yet, but initial impressions are that the gearchange feels much tighter (and I have say that I didn't think there was a problem in the first place, so I wasn't expecting too much from the thing).
There is certainly less movement of the engine/gearbox during first gear stop-starts.
Stay tuned for a more comprehensive report next week.

Did you source this in the UK? Looked around on the APR website and APR dealers websites, seems very little info on this over here. Also how easy was the fitting?

Bought it direct from the US - along with a few more for RS246.com members - the shared postage and good exchange rate made it cheaper than buying direct from APR re-sellers in the UK.
Not exactly an easy fit, as the bumper has to come off and the radiator pulled foward to access it.

OK, I've been living with the snub mount for a couple of weeks now, and I can honestly say that this is a must have mod after the short-shifter for the S4.
The shift-feel has improved considerably and I'm not 'missing' rushed 2-3 gear changes as often - the whole movement feels more solid - it's not quite upto BMW standards, but it isn't far off now.
If you can't / don't want to DIY, then my advice would be to get it fitted when the bumper needs to come off i.e. water pump, respray(?), RS4 IC's(!), else it could work out quite expensive.
The other option is the DTS - I think Dippy has one of these fitted ???

No - it's not me. DavidT IIRC.
I've started to notice the transmission slop more recently. I wouldn't say it's a big deal for me, just that I notice it.
I was going to have the snub mount fitted by AmD at my last service, but they said that they had never fitted one, and that put me off. From what I've read the AWE DTS is better than the snub mount, so it's on my to-do list. Trouble is it's not a list of things for me to do, so it'll have to wait until the car is next in for work at AmD.
