Jabbasport remap for S4?

Post by Golfather » Mon May 17, 2004 11:22 pm

Anyone had their 2.7T S4 remapped by Jabbasport?
If so, any graphs, and is it smooth power delivery?

Had it done about 4 weeks ago.
Very pleased - car is still very smooth, which is what I asked for.
Really opened up past 4K RPM now, pulls right through till redline.

They dyno they gave me said:
334BHP
485NM

How accurate this is I don't know, car is definitely a lot faster.
Michael Truluck really does know what he is talking about and can
give you a map to your specifications.

Hope that helps.

very interesting - and the S4 custom remap via Jabba appears to be cheap compared to other tuners.

do they now do serial programming?

I have to say i'm very interested - the ability to truely custom remap the car to my requirements is a definite advantage.

Thanks Jon
Thats great news.
Mikes a 1.8T Guru and knows it inside out.
I had a remap on the Golf for 2 years without any problems, but was unsure if he could handle the 2.7T.

What a bummer, Jabbasports 4wd roller is knackered.
They can only remap fwd for the time being until they move to their new premises after June where
they're getting a new one installed.

Thought I recognized your sig from uk-mkivs.net. I traded up this year as well.
Yeah, I am very pleased with the map - it's a little milder in terms of boost because
my car is fairly high mileage and I didn't want it too aggressive. It's 1bar with 1.2
on overboost. He also moved the rev limiter up to about 7K. It doesn't feel a whole
lot different lower in the rev range to stock (unless on overboost), the difference
being that it doesn't run out of puff anymore. I did have some problems but they were
my fault entirely - I had a stuttering which was caused by the IK20's I had in there
- putting the stock PFR6Q's back in fixed it immediately. (which to Jababsports credit
Mike diagnosed as being my problem over the phone). Now I just need new wheels, clutch
suspension brakes and exhaust - Anyone need a kidney?

Cheers,

Jon

what did the dyno results say at the wheels? 343bhp seems a lot for just a chip....

Dyno results at the wheels were just over 260bhp (lost about 70 through quattro etc.). My car is pretty
well run in. Jabbasports dyno has to be pretty accurate (calibrated) due to the regulations of the competitions
they prep cars for. I have MAF logs which shows over 265g/s of air as well (~1bhp per gram (atw))

OK that explains it. 260 is around what I would expect at the wheels (40Bhp over std). Thanks.

S4's, from what I can see, typically lose 60-90 BHP cf. wheel power. A standard S4 would be lucky to make 200 atw.

I spent fair while looking for atw s4 dyno printouts and only found two us spec cars showing 195 - 200, and my own showing 210. Figured those figures were about right. Nearly all of the dynos prinouts I found were calculated figures, which from what I can gather could mean just about anything. Anybody else dyno'd a std S4 or a chipped one for that matter? What did you get atw?

My standard S4 produced 207.1 bhp at the wheels on the G-Force rolling road.
