RS4 intake cam profile VS 2.8 30V intake cam ?

Looking to add various RS4 intake parts to a 2.7T and rather than porting my existing 2.7T heads I am installing the 2.8 30V head. The shop wants to install RS4 intake cams on these heads VS the 2.8 intake cams. But from what I have been able to gether, the 2.8 intake cams should work just fine ( albeit, custom tuning of course ) the questions I have is how are the two cams different ? Does the 2.8 intake cam have higher lift or longer duration lift or both. Has anyone ever attempted this upgrade before. I would just as soon use the 2.8 intake cams as long as I am not sacrificing Tq or HP, if it shifts the numbers to the right I am fine. I am hoping I can gain some low end torque and upper end HP by adding this to a RS4 intake manifold/RS4 TB and the right heads/cams. RS4 heads are just too darn expensive. TIA for any help you can provide.

Hi rob,
Not to sure about the specific cam profiles but I would have thought you would loose not gain low end tourque.
The RS4 does not have the low end grunt of the S4 and this would be due in part to the cam profile.

Thanks. on another note, you'll like the FMIC. I haven't installed my Oil Cooler as it just shipped but lloking forward to adding some muscle to the S4 this spring/summer. Hoping the FMIC really helps out in the heat.

You just need to keep calling them. If all else fails, call or e-mail eric at duhengineering directly. Be the velevet hammer, he is usally responsive using that approach. I know he's tied up in Florida with a RS4 install gone mad but should be back in Calif by Monday.

I just spoke with Eric yesterday, sounds like he is on his third cooler install in Florida. I thought he was going to be back home by now.
