Exhaust's

Post by david7m » Sun Nov 23, 2003 10:52 pm

Any recommendations/advice for exhaust's on an S3?

From what I can see, there are three brands: -

1. Jetex
2. Miltek
3. Supersprint

How do they fit, sound, look etc.?

Is the back box enough, or is the middle bit needed too?

I had the same problems when I was wanting one.
I opted for the Miltek as these showed good results.
I would go for the cat back system.About £500 from AMD and such like.
Then you could go for the downpipe and miltek sport cat.
If money is no object then you could go for the lot in a one'er.
I think it may be just preferance but that's what I opted for anyway.
I had a Jetex on me VR6 and that was great.
Good look and let us know what you opted for.

Add Remus to your list of Cat Back suppliers too. Not had it fitted myself but MattR had one on his S3 and thought it looked nicer than the miltek IMO.

When you said the above, I assumed you meant downpipes?

Sounds like a cat-back is the way forward.

Powerflow, are they the custom one's?

Yes apparently you turn up at the agents tell them what you want and wait while they make it up for you and fit it to the car.
Not sure if they gain you any bhp's.
I've seen hundreds fitted to go faster saxo's.

I had a powerflow exhaust on one of my alfa's, cracking system. Sounded great, never had any problems with it & it has a lifetime warrenty. I dont know if you'll get any extra BHP, though as its a turbo car, if you go for a twin 2.5 or 3" eaxhaust cat back you might get a couple of bhp.
