Recurring VAG.COM errors

Post by toasty » Wed Jan 22, 2003 1:30 pm

Hi,

Keep seeing DTC 17545 and 17547 when I scan for DTCs on my Audi S4 1999.

They relate to actual errors of:

Long Term Fuel Trim Add.FuelBank1 System too Rich
Long Term Fuel Trim Add.FuelBank2 System too Rich

I've cleared them before and they come back within a week.

Any ideas anyone?

I'd speak to whoever did your remap. Let us know what you find out.

Hi chaps,

thanks for you interest.
No remap just yet (as far as I am aware)

I guess the rolling road day will show if it has been modified, but I doubt it as it was a company car before I owned it.

Could be a dirty MAF - so it's reading airflow wrong - Can you log the data for the fuel trim - Is this in the spec range? I've only played around with VAG-COM for a few days and it's for an S2 so it will be different. If you have an oiled filter it can easily cause this.

Hi Mate,

Just recently cleaned the MAF, and it was as clean as a whistle anyway.

Been looking on the web, figured that it might be an idea to change the TBB and Diverter valves anyway as they are a weakness on S4's and quite cheap I would imagine.

Apparently though if the TBB was badly broken I'd see DTC 17965 which I don't.

The car runs fine, and the error sometimes takes a week to register again, so I'm not too bothered, more of a project to get to the root of it than anything else!

Not sure about fuel trim logging, I'll check.

Thanks for the advice.
