I know this is now an old thread but I bought some wheals and cheap tyres for my A8 4.2 about 9 months ago for 550 and have been very pleased. Give them a go!

What was it, why was it removed etc?

I have dealt with Rochford. Got a set of RS4 reps for my A4 with F1's for about £750 - arrived a day later all good. I did have a wheel wobble issue though which I thought was because of them not being balanced - turns out it was not that - could have been a warped wheel. By then I had curbed them so didnt bother going back to them and sold the car.

I since called in... conversation went as follows:

Me - Hi, do you do McGaurd wheel locks?
Roch - Yes we do
Me - Great, do you have stock of some to fit my Audi S4 with BBS CH wheels 40mm long?
Roch - take a few days as they are not a standard size, but yes we can do
Me - Great, £30 off my card

Turn up the next day - I'm like WOW - what service. Open up the pack... they are not McGaurd. Call them up to query it. Get passed over to the bloke that took my order. He got really shirty with me, was a right ar5e about it said I was "talking sh!t" and said send them back in the post and I will do a refund and hung up.

Real prick - totally sh!yte customer service. That could have been the one bloke and the wheel wobble perhaps a once off. Needless to say I wont use them again.

As I recall they weren't exactly a pleasiure to deal with. But the prices they charge mean that they are BUSY so I suppose they don't need to spend too much time keeping people happy. I honestly couldn't figure out how they managed 4 rims and tyres for £550.

Elite direct...

Yeah... wasters...

Asked them to do the alignment on my corrado 1.8t.... went ON AND ON that I shouldnt bother doing a full alignment because I needed to sort the shocks first, finally gave in to their views, then they charged me £35 - full alignment was only £45. They did some other work too, CV boot etc. Too late to argue/put car back on ramps. That weekend my driveshaft came off while driving. Leaving me stranded in the middle of the countryside miles from anywhere. I was fuming, contacted their CS department who said fax only, so faxed a complaint letter several times and never got a response. Was so angry (And young and stupid) that I never really followed through. Useless wasters.

As far as I am concerned - cheap aint all there is to it. Rather pay more with the confidence that I will receive decent goods/good service and reliable after sales care.

Two companies in one thread I have had a moan about... why dont we start ranting about Audi... I have a few stories there - I am on a roll! :D

I just ordered a set of wheels last week from Rochford. Arrived a day late (but that was business posts fault).
tyres and wheels are in perfect nick, came with all the right bits and even came with wheel bolts.....
Pretty good if you ask me....

I've had 3 sets of wheels and tyres off them. The only issue I've had is when trying to get them on a Saturday due to how busy they are.
I'm just about to use them again.

They're cheap as they are a massive wholesale supplier to the alloy outlets around the country. They shift a huge amount of stock a week. They charge £25 for delivering a set of alloys with tyres which seems incredibly cheap. They must have some bulk buy deal with the carrier.

p.s. If you're after the best price ask for Dave and mention my name. He does discounts and I've done a few group buys with him on other forums.

I had personal experience from the posted title .... they tried to supply me et30 rims, when stated I required minimum of et35, but looking for et37(rs6 copies)
I arranged for them to have a set in, went down straight off a night shift, got there about 10am, so I been up for 24hrs now....!!! fun begins...

they pull out et30's - tell him there having a laugh, look at the protrusion from the rim ..... whilst they tried to convince me they were okay,
I started asking for a hamlet cigar ........ (c.fandango & ford anglia...!) they eventually got it.. the old gits did .... but they had no other rs6 rims in stock except for et30's .... Im pissed with them now, but the real fun still aint begun.....
They tried to get me to go for other rims, then showed me how & who makes the wheel bolt holes in blanked rims..... they just drill the new wheels and tapered seat..... no metal insert either....
They pop my wheel back on..... young idiot only does the locking nut up with an air ratchet ..... yep snapped the key .... the only key ...
They couldnt get the old l/wheel bolts out .... eventually I took over from them ... used and abused there crap sockets - 2hrs later I completed and left with 4 new locking bolts, that I fitted .... they still had the audacity to charge me for my new bolts ....
Total bunch of tossers really - sorry if I tarnish good words from other members ----
