Hi...I have had 2 cars done by Insultint in High Wycombe with no probs, it was about £300. The local BMW garage farms out all their work to them, Give them a ring on 07956 223117.

I imagine there is a huge amount of business for tinting windows in sunny Italy. We in bonny Scotland don't see very much of that bright yellow thingy that on occassion hurts your eyes and turns you bright red with associated skin shed for a week!

Little Skull,

- what type of tinting did you get?
- IS it right that only windows on rear seats and all windows of rear of car can be done?
- Is this just sun-protection, or do these films also prevent thieves breaking windows?

thanks for the info

Don, i chose the light "fumé" film because it looks better then the dark film on the Avus color and with the dark film you can't see crap at night. As for "what type of tinting" it is, i didn't know there were dfferent types so can't help you on that. It is true that you can do all the windows except for the driver/passanger and windshield, but here in italy no one cares about such laws and all of the widows look much better As for the breaking of the window....good question. I hope i never find out, but since the film is adhesive it would make sense that it keeps the window from shattering all over the place. My advice is do the light color tinting cause the car is 100 times better looking then before.
Cheers,
Cris

Thanks Cris, will check out the options as soon as I get back from a little vacation. I must say, "fumé" sounds sweet, a lot more interesting then pimp-black

I don't know how it's been for you but the tricky part is getting the workshops to name the brand and exact reference of the film they're planning to use, especially for anti car-jacking ones.

So far I've heard only one potential description : 100micron by Llumar/CPS Films.
Then someone else said : "it's a 3M film because only 3M makes anti-car-jacking film."
Or "there's only kind of film, it's 18 times stronger than standard glass and we never got a complaint, what more you need to know".
Etc.

Ain't that weird ? There must be fecking standards in the security industry, no ? Just like you get oil grades or speed/load rating on tires.

Eric,
I understand you have/are getting the anti-jacking film job done.

- All windows?
- What's the newest insight on the brand and specifications of the film?

tnx
