RS6 tuning recommendations
RS6 tuning recommendations
Hi all
I dont want to start a which tuner is best argument but just looking for some recommendations on tuners that people have used and are happy with. Im getting my first rs in 2 weeks and will be looking to get it mildly tuned (stage 1/2) in the coming months. Also anything I should be specifically concerned about in terms of tuning problems for these cars.Any advice appreciated. Im based in northumberland but happy to travel.
Cheers

Re: RS6 tuning recommendations
Most folk will say MRC or Unit 20. Take a look at MRC website.

Re: RS6 tuning recommendations
I had a look at mrc website as I seen a few mentions but there didnt seem to be much detail on the C7
Re: RS6 tuning recommendations
Pretty sure MRC have done a few, and there's also DMS who have also done a couple on here.

Re: RS6 tuning recommendations
OK..cheers mate. Can anyone tell me if theres any difference in the approach taken by MRC or DMS - eg do they use standard maps or bespoke to the individual car. Also do they do it direct to the ecu or via a “plug in”. Im familiar with the gtr tuners but dont know if audis are same. Ive looked at DMS before for a cayenne turbo upgrade but didnt go ahead in the end (just never got round to doing it...nothing to do with them) and they seemed to know their stuff but reading on here seems like MRC has a lot of good press. Thanks for the comments
Re: RS6 tuning recommendations
I've had a few RS6's, been here for nearly 5 years and used a few different places. For the mapping I would absolutely recommend MRC 100% of the time as their bespoke mapping programmed into the ECU will give you a better result than a more generic plug & play or soldered board map.
However for "garage" work like servicing, repairs etc I find MRC to no better or worse than an average garage (not bad but not great) and I personally find Unit20 to be better with "garage" work although I haven't tried any of the garages further North nearer you.

^^^^This^^^^ 100%. You get a more personal experience at Unit20 imo, happy to take time to talk everything through.IanH755 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 11:36 amI've had a few RS6's, been here for nearly 5 years and used a few different places. Re: RS6 tuning recommendations
I've used both MRC and unit20. Unit20 for repairs especially anything DRC related etc and MRC for tuning.
Re: RS6 tuning recommendations
Thanks all. Seems MRC is the general consensus...sounds like a trip to oxford is in my future!
Re: RS6 tuning recommendations
I’ve only ever used MTM for my RS6’s and only because they tend to be more cautious on power and torque so less chance of blowing the engine. That might change with my RS3 options being MRC or APR
