Custom exhaust fabricators

Post by chunky79 » Sun Apr 23, 2017 5:36 am

Morning gents/ladies

I'm looking to get some downpipes made for my C5 RS6. I was hoping to use somewhere local to me (West Midlands) but understand that if you want quality then you sometimes have to travel ( like I do for my service work, Unit20).
Apart from JCweldfab and Hayward Scott, can anyone recommend somewhere that can fabricate and fit some custom downpipes?

Cheers

They would be my first 2 names. I'm booked into EMP in st Albans on wednesday for some mods to my downpipes as they come recommended and have been great on phone/email while working something out

A new front piece to replace my 2 milltek resonators on the downpipes with an x-pipe.

OJZ engineering come very highly recommended, but I think they are nearer London (and always busy). Ryan Edwards Exhaust Fabrication (REEF) are at Bicester Heritage and he is also very good.

Check out Style Dynamics in West London - They did my exhaust work on the RS4, new flexis, removed pre-cats and x Pipe added.

I've used MIJ exhaust in Walsall 3 times in past 3-4 years, never disappointed with the quality etc but they've had a bad rep from 7+ years ago still haunting them online.

I've had -

Full stainless Mondeo exhaust
Cat Back stainless BMW 740i exhaust
Back-Box delete on the C6 RS6 with new tips

Plus when I've been there with my C6 (mid 2015) they were doing a C5 full system inc downpipes (took 1 week IIRC from what they said) and the quality of the Tig welding was very good! No idea how it came out though and I haven't seen anyone post about it on here.

MIJ are only 10 minutes from me so would be perfect, BUT, as you say they have a really bad reputation on line. I looked into them when I got my Miltek and saw nothing but bad reports. I'm pretty sure someone on here (s4 forum) used them and had a bad experience (they took 3x as long to do a job). They always seem to do a lot of Jap cars and do have some nice cars in there from time to time. Might have to contact them to get a price.
Cheers for the replies Guys

There is also torque flow in birmingham I believe, seem to have good feedback , anyone heard of them?
I did contact mij many months ago via email and they were very prompt on emailing back Ill give them that.
Never got round to booking it in yet, but Ill be going to one of these in the next few weeks hopefully.

I've used MIJ in the past and had no reason to complain , they did a full sports cats and stainless exhaust for my mondeo ST 200 , Alfa 156 V6 , and Audi S8 , i'd use them again without hesitation if their prices fitted in with my budget.

Are you local to them? Without giving away too much of your location.
