This is presumably important with the high output engines. The bog standard 1.8T drinks 95Ron, is there any benefit to be gained by using higher octane fuel? Am I being negligent in looking after my baby?
Here's an experiment for you.... For the next 2-4 tanks of fuel, use Optimax (Shell). You should notice a difference.
Then you will probably think to yourself, 'this is nice I wonder what Optimax and Millers would be like...... '
I'm now on my third tank of Optimax and its a different car, feels much quicker and certainly more responsive. I presume the ECU's anti-knock sensors detect less 'knocking' and advances the ignition accordingly - would this be correct? And if I add Millers to Optimax will it make any difference or does the advantage 'peak out' at a certain Octane level?
