Nope, not a thing, not even a confirmation this time which means they are either ignoring me and hoping I will go away or they are talking to their techs or something. Maybe I should contact them via another mail account as a potential customer rather than one who has already given them the money so what do they care :D

BUT then if you take what you say and look at the pictures on the ECS site the calipers are on the correct way round in all of theirs.
Mine on the other hand was supplied incorrectly, in a trailing configuration the lead piston would always be the largest. This is not simply rotating the caliper around the wheel, its a swap of left to right and right to left side so they become inverted (as per my pic on page 3 - its the dodgy but functional paint drawing LOL)
This is the same config as Jimbo had/has his setup in the original post and how it all started - big piston leading = shoddy pad wear problem (and by the sounds of it mediocre performance too)

When I installed them last week I swapped over the nipples with the "equaliser" pipes (not sure what they are really called) so that they have the lead piston being the smallest one when mounted in trailing config.

Is it possible that whoever fitted them managed to swap the callipers on bobbler/jimbo's setup? Or maybe The TT shop looked at the ECS kit a bit puzzled and swapped them on my setup...

Well, I fitted mine myself. They came from JBR Performance - which literally just ordered them from ECS directly and then forwarded them to me. Only ECS are going to answer that question, but they don't seem to want to talk to me anymore.

Have you tried their online customer help stuff on the website?

I tried to get from JBR, but they never answered the phone. Or the faxes. Or the emails. They're the "main importer" in the UK. As it happens, The TT Shop actually sell twice as many ECS products as JBR do. If I were you, I'd call The TT Shop and ask them - they were helpful and knowledgeable when I spoke to them. They'll probably help you out, even though they didn't install it.

after a couple of weeks of running in the reskimmed discs and new pads and getting the calipers the right way round the braking performance is definitely a lot better now. just thought id add this :bash:

The Brembo 8 pot used on the RS6/B7 RS4 is also used in the Brembo GT Big Brake kits. The Kits come with a variety of discs which can be cross-drilled or slotted. I have 380mmx34mm slotted front discs on my car using the Brembo 8 Pot caliper and the difference from a B7 RS4 kit is that the calipers have been spaced out by 7.5mm (and the calipers have MTM on them !).

Brembo do a 405x34mm disc which should fit under a 19" wheel.....:)
I know it's an old thread revival but no where in the thread was it explained why the calipers have to be a certain way, So I thought I'd share what I know of the issue.

All calipers with reducing piston sizes must be run with the smallest bore size as the leading piston and the largest bore as the trailing piston irrespective of if it is a leading or trailing caliper setup.
They are designed this way to counter the extra bite the front of the pad has and to allow the pad to wear as eveanly as possible with an even pressure force across the entire pad face. This facilitates a much higher clamping force applied to the disc as it is not trying to pinch the leading edge of the pads.

Also my brother is running these 405mm discs on his Chevrolet silverado dually with custom made full floating hubs/hats and RS6/Lamborghini 8Pot brembo calipers(& a 900Hp diesel V8 ) They are HUGE & very heavy.
