Oh and I had a passenger ride on a full rally stage in Whinlatter Forest in a WRC Focus with Markko Martin as my Chauffer!!! Absolutely MEGA

That's why I'm sticking an RS4 engine into my 20v RR!! Best of both worlds and they are actually quite a refined car. I have a 10v WR too and the RR is like a different car but it weighs hardly any more. 550 bhp+ in the RR is gonna be nice!!clubsport wrote:On Saturday I drove a '91 Audi Quattro 20V RR,,,,,it felt so light and chuckable, like being back in a mk2 Golf,,,then I got back in my standard S4 and it felt like an A8! There is a lot to be said for this weight reduction lark!

There are a lot of things you can do without gutting the inside of the car...
First off with the seats now these arent Pole position but similar design and a great write up.

Next time you go the track If you take out the tool kit, spare, and rear seats (one bolt) thats easily 75lbs. The sub box will also make a major difference. With all this removed including the sub box it will feel like you took a person out no joke.
Also throw in some race gas. Me personally i like 116 leaded (jungle juice i call it lol) with a little 93. BUT dont put a lot of gas in to much starts adding the weight.
Next get some stoptech brakes either there full kit all 4 wheels or just the fronts.excellent brakes system and are lighter then the RS6 brakes.
Get a lighter smaller set of wheels. The bigger and heavier is more rotating mass. The more you can cut down on rotating mass the better.
I reccommend either a set of VOLK or SSR wheels. they both weigh in the 16-18LBs range which is alot less then your BBS wheels which weigh in at 25LBs
If you want to you can get Carbon fiber hood, trunk, fenders and doors. BUT that adds up in price.
Like you said driving skills is a big deal. try to get an excellent launch thats where alot of people have trouble. If yo ucan nail a 1.8 60ft and nail your shift points you can potentially hit the 11s without race gas and a little bit of the weight reduction i listed above.
You can easily break into the 11s without going crazy with the window motor, carpeting, and all that.
I have a friend who went 11.5 with full interior no spar or tool kit and some race gas.
Good luck to ya and hope you get into the 11s!!
Yes sir thats where im from. We actually have quiet a few number of S4s in the 11s. Its actually becoming common. A S4 over in Cali just ran 11.1 on OEM plain jain K04s and moderate weight reduction (wheels, brakes, hood, no spare or tool kik etc.).One of the GT28 cars ran 11.4 at 132 with a poopy launch and another that ran 10.8 i think full weight possibly a little weight reduction. Marcs blue beast ran 10.7 on OEM k04 turbos with CRAZY weight reduction literally no interior AT ALL!satanschild wrote:2001S4ICS wrote:OK lets where to start..
