Beyond FATS - Performance Testing

Got so far as comparing my GPS speed of 60mph reading 61mph by VAGCOM. Not done your test yet Mark, but I will. To be honest even without GPS verification, if we all use 60-90 and one person mearures 61 to 91 and another 59 to 89 with the accuracy tollerance of VAGCOM I think we are close ennough for general comparison.

I confess to having logged some other times for interest and comparison though.

I wanted to try a 50-70 in 3rd to compare with the figures in this thread:

My result (only tried once) was 2.7 secs.

I also wanted another test of the car's torque that I could compare to something and found www.autocar.co.uk has a road test archive, for which their full road tested cars have a data section.

The 50-70mph agin but this time in 5th seems a good example. I need to double check my result as my log tells me a time of 3.8 secs which seems just too quick, especially compared to some of the cars on there, but it is the sort of test the car should excel at.....but still.

Both test around 16C and pretty much full tank of fuel.
