AMD launches "one-click" serial port tuning
Re: AMD launches "one-click" serial port tuning
AmD put my T Sport back to standard and it did cost £100; that was when |I part exchanged it. I'd argue about the hour , I booked, arrived early but still had to wait virtually three hours! Good job I'm more or less my own boss - I went up there in my "lunch hour" !!!
No wonder serial port has been developed.
Not a good journey back , - 40bhp AND the dealer wanted to see ( and kept)the invoice proving it was back to standard.
Opinions on Oettinger remaps ??

that one click isn't available for the 2.7 S4 engine.. what a bummer.. i reckon we should all nag them till they get it sorted! he he

Re: AMD launches "one-click" serial port tuning
Yes, I phoned them as well in the hope they would do it for the S4 2.7. "It's not a current model, so we won't be doing serial port programming" they said. Hence, I'm looking at the Revo upgrade, having had positive experience with Revo tuning on the 1.8T engine. I've put a thread on the S4 2.7 section, for a little feedback from those who have had their S4 2.7s Revoed, but very little response so far. There seem to be more AMD fans on this website, and the young, upstart Revo is viewed with suspicion. Maybe this is justified or maybe not. Anybody had Revo installed on their S4 2.7s?

I am in exactly the same position. Considering APR, Revo
and Upsolute. I can get Upsolute for just over 300 - still
waiting for more details. I quite like Revo as they can give
you a map for what fuel you run and there is no physical
manipulation of the ECU. However, when I asked for dynos
and info on timing, boost curves etc. they claimed they had
no legible S4 dynos and sent me a link to remedial timing/
boost 101 which was essentially a disclaimer saying turning
up the dials on SPS3 may not give you the results you
expect. I offered my S4 as a dyno car but received no
response. As for APR, I have heard nothing back from them
at all. AMD always leave a sour taste in my mouth so I
don't think it will be going there for a remap. Let me
know how you get on? I think I will at least get a Revo
trial.
Cheers,
Jon

Re: AMD launches "one-click" serial port tuning
i wonder if we could get revo to program in an sps1 with the remap like the one click and sell them that way.. they would make a fortune i reckon, i'd buy one for sure, i'm just a bit dubious with revo because after having it done, a dealer or what not could get an sps1 and plug it in, and would see immediatelly that it was remapped, because it would switch and make an 'audible beep', but with the one click, if they did that, they would in effect be chipping the car.. coooool!!! JonnyX,
I think the SPS 3 from Revo can be altered to suit the characteristics of the fuel. However, I am told the CPU in Audis has adaptive learning anyway. So it adapts to the type of fuel you putand retards ignition timing etc. However, it takes a few tanks apparently if you put in higher octane fuel before it susses it.
On your point about no dyno graphs. Well it definitely would be better if they had some. They have them for the more common 1.8T on their website. Sort of makes you think that they've done more development work on the 1.8T? I suppose this makes sense, as they would probably sell more of this product given that the 1.8T turns up in lots of cars.
Maybe, we should put a bit more pressure on Revo for dyno plots. If there is only one speculative buyer phoning them up, they won't be too bothered. But if there are 10 of us, they might take more notice and get a revoed S4 dynoed. They can use mine if they want. So who is interested in this out there. Come on hands up

Re: AMD launches "one-click" serial port tuning
I read on the tt-forum that the company behind the 'AMD one click' technology has also sold it to other tuners - anyone know who these 'other tuners' are?

Re: AMD launches "one-click" serial port tuning
still can't really be that great if it's not mapped on a rr and is just a standard map with 2 dyno runs.I fancy setting up a dyno day at a "proper rr" so we can really compare revo, amd, apr and others,eg motec ,unichip.Would anyone be interested??

Re: AMD launches "one-click" serial port tuning
Ryan you can have it set up and mapped on a RR.
mine will be. I running their code at the minute.
Id ike to try G force again sometime, when my maps finished. Now we know how AmD strap their cars down , they might have a better time with the haldex.
