BP102 ultimate
RE: Re: RE: BP102 ultimate
I chucked 100 quids worth of the stuff in before a track day and didn't really notice any difference. Guess the remap I have isn't able to take advantage of the higher octane.

I've just realised this IS the case for me. Not right on my doorstep (a good thing me thinks) but under 20 miles away and a direction I travel in from time to time - with good roads too!S4TAN wrote:I would punt 50 quid on some of this stuff if there was a bloody garage selling it anywhere even remotely near me!
Looks like Milton Keynes has two to choose from:
Chicheley Park Connect
Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, MK16 9BD
Wavendon Gate Connect
Newport Road, Wavendon, Milton Keynes, MK7 7AG
Def going to fill up at one of these at some point and will get some logs.
I think we could even excuse a localised MK Meet Up on the strength of this!
KayGee - you must have tried some of this??

Having done my homework I'll be using vagcom to see if my ECU is retarding any timing on my current 99ron Tesco / V-Power first. If the ECU is currently not winding the timing in, then better fuel will not make any difference to my car.

Yep - makes sense. There seems to be mixed opinions on this fuel: one says "noticed a difference", another says "no difference" - i'd still like to try some for myself though.

RE: Re: RE: BP102 ultimate
Just a word of caution. About 2 or 3 weeks after using this stuff my k03s bit the dust. Might not be related, but if youve got tired old turbos, it could be an expensive experiment !!
All BLOW and no GO.........
RE: Re: RE: BP102 ultimate
You didn't have a Mars bar the same day did you? I really think that has to be coincidence unless you were so excited to get the fuel you ran the car hot into the station and had the ignition off before your turbos had spun down or were so eager you floored it away with a cold engine.
As we have been discussing the only way this fuel could make any difference is if your car is running loads of <beep> on regular super and that is not very likely. My MRC custom map was done using Tesco 99 fuel and I use that all the time. Checking with vagcom I have very little <beep>, only momenterily at a few spots through the revs. I don't know enough to quantify this to know if it is significant or not, but I guestimate not.
I unconvinced enough that I haven't rushed to BP yet and at £2.50+ a litre I doubt I will. Had vagcom shown different, then I would have.
Mind I scoffed in a similar fashion when I read a factory oiled K&N panel filter could kill my MAS - I lasted only ~ 20 miles before it packed up (not Audi). The filter and MAS are at least directly related, but maybe I should learn my lesson!
