Hi Bushy,

Here's the DVR pix I found on Forge site.

Image

SRP is £ 115 (instead of £ 81 for 006/007) and the details say :

- On the track or strip ?
- Running a modified 1.8T or 2.7 Bi-turbo?
- Do split seconds make all the difference?
Then you need the Forge Motorsport DV-R

This diverter valve has been designed for the fastest response and to ensure maximum boost for the professional competitor. It is supplied in a kit that allows you to customise the response characteristics to your engine whilst ensuring that the boost pressure is high just when you need it. Combining diaphragm technology with Aerospace standards of engineering the DV-R wont be the only winner on the track.

The DV-R kit includes:
One DV-R fast response valve
Three alternative springs to match the valve characteristics to your engine
Two spare diaphragms
All the necessary hose clamps
Installation instructions and set-up guide

A french MTM S3 owner said he's very happy with it (and loves the stronger "pschitt" sound). I haven't heard more than that thus my question.

Whats the difference, the diaphrams may split I guess, hence the spare one

What springs do people run in their 007 then?

Tim might want to comment on the diaphram DVs.

I run red springs in my 007.

Indeed, a diaphram will move faster than a piston, hence better response. But as we know from the Bosch, they can split very easily, and we all know what that can lead to...

I'm running the blue springs.

Diaphragms have their uses. Some women suffer side effects from the pill

Think carefully before using them on a modded RS4 though. The last thing your turbos need are pieces of disintegrating diaphragm from your DV's entering them. I was bloody lucky

Hum...

I don't really feel like being a pioneer with the DVR then, so I'll play safe with the 007 (plus it's 160£ for the pair, instead of 230£ for the DVR).

BTW, I got a call from my Audi dealer (car's in for maintenance) : faulty DV's indeed, thus my feeling the flat/hesitation around 5k rpm.

Running the AmD/Turbo Dynamics DV's with uprated red springs now (thanks Mitch). IMHO anything over 1.55Bar, or indeed holding a steady boost around 1.55Bar requires the red springs.

Something we found when we stripped mine which is very important to check is that the piston is lubricated correctly and moves smoothly inside the chamber

The Viper springs seem to come with a spring which would make a "slinky spring" look heavy duty. The Forge red springs were slightly machined to fit (bigger O/D) and now the whole setup works perfectly. According to AmD the Viper version of red springs are available if you ask, although you shouldn't have to ask - just had to have it sorted in a matter of hours , so couldn't wait......

IMHO the unit is class, but just check the sh*te spring you get before you buy , and make sure it's lubricated properly before you fit it.....

What spring rating were you hoping for with the Viper Paul? Wouldn't have thought it would affect you at all running the stock boost

Didn't realise there was a gb on AS.net otherwise I would've posted my findings sooner. Anyone on the gb running over 1.55BAr boost? Scott knows about both the issues I have raised with him and has been investigating for the last week or so, so it shouldn't be a big issue.......
