make sure you have baffles and a lower pickup volume in the tank. If you rely on it for power instead of an extra safety device it needs to work all the time!
you need the really big pump so you can get proportional control with injector duty cycle to make it really worthwhile.

I got a really nice t piece for the 4mm that runs to the injectors. Its push fit and stainless. looks good and ensures a good seal.

Instead of baffles you can fill the tank with foam - stops surge and movement of the water - the same as they use in rally fuel tanks. Works the same as baffles but slightly cheaper to install.

do you require a remap if you fit this. had this on my g60 and it droped the intake temps to below ambient.- was using 50/50 methonal water. but would be thinking to use this on the s4. 2 small jets.prob .5's. ans also is one pump enough to run 2 jets, and high boost.
only i had a a friend running a high boosted cosworth with 2 large water jets(.90), but when the boost come on full. - peaking at 40psi! it actually stopped the water coming out of the jets. so he had to have 2 pumps. one for each jet.- expensive.

Ran mine from the washer bottle with no probs, but had it 'double' triggered by a digital boost relay (about 10psi trigger I think) in conjunction with WOT. This way the charge was cooled only when really needed ie. flat out. Unless you're flat out you probably won't have any noticeable improvement in performance.
This worked really well for me on trackdays, with obvious improvement results compared with it off, and usually only requiring two topups during the day.

This is the reason I was thinking about trying VEMS. There's a specific output for "extra stuff" like NOS and water injection. However, the VEMS crew do say that the stock S4 Motronic ECU as actually pretty well programmed, and MRC maps are jsut great. If I'm not adding stuff like water injection, there's no need for VEMS.
Now, the question is, if I end up with a second S4, can I get steam injection going at low throttle angles, as well as water injection for running it hard?

You've just run the spark, the petrol ignites, expands, does its job. Then you run another complete rotation to clear out the gases. At this point, the cylinder is still nice and hot. Ordinarily, you'd put more fuel/air mix in, and repeat the cycle. But what if you spray some water in, instead? It'll turn to steam. Steam's bigger than water. It'll expand. It's not as powerful as igniting petrol, but it's not so expensive either. It's a method for saving fuel that buses uses regularly.
Care to have a 500 BHP S4 that does 40 to the gallon around town?
I'm just idlying pondering what could be done, really. I don't know whether this would have adverse effects on the cats, or the EGTs would read low and the fuel balance altered, etc. There's all sorts of issues here that I haven't thought through - it's mere idle speculation stage One thing's for sure, I'd be adding a water tank somewhere.
