ASDA (@rse sensitivity dyno analysis)

That's the only 'software' i've got! I think I have a 'cracked' copy though ...

logs will tell u how long it takes to get rid of the boost.
If they are fast and flow more than 710ns this will show.
Vag logs welcome to show the dumping.

I have ordered a pair of R1s. I am definitely getting a slight delay in boost returning after gearchanges, but I admit it is years since I serviced my Forge DVs. Whilst I could go and get a Forge service kit, I have decided that the time has come to get new DVs instead, and the idea of using a decent diaphragm DV instead of a piston DV appeals to me.

For a while on this forum I have promoted piston DVs over the 710Ns. Let's see if the R1 converts me ;)

One thing I have noticed with the R1's is the "dog howl" noise - I get this on the transition from vac to boost (around the 0-2psi mark on my boost gauge) ... it's like a muted howl noise that I'm guessing happens when the DVs are closing and the pressure in the charge pipes goes above the ambient atmospheric and a little bit of initial boost is escaping through a tiny gap in the valves back into the intake pipes before they fully close properly ... but this only happens with gentle throttle progression: if i mash the throttle to the floor it doesn't happen at all ...

Can you emulate this doh howl noise and post a video for us on you tube so we can all hear it?

 funny f*cker Graham! ... imagine an 8 week old puppy stuck under your bonnet making a short quiet howl every time you begin to go "on boost" ... but as i say: only happens with gentle throttle application.

well I've fitted mine at last , they are a nice well made unit that would appear to have a larger body so help flow . The car feels stronger but does now have a "chirp" when they open. g
