i think we need to consider this topic, IMHO the Movit brakes are by far the best i have had, can survive 150 miles out on the track in a day

Compared to standard this is exceptional

However they can still fade and crack under abuse and yes they warp and the paint does come off

But this is the best, and i have not seen anything that even comes close, well except the AP racing set up that Steve Fitz has

Cheers

we are both in the same situation mate

it is an improvement i think thats all we can agree on

A very good breaking system and i am sure superb for a porshe that wiehgs 500kilos less than our cars

Maybe we should go for the 6 pots?

Strange guys never had a prob with the Sportec 380mm, which as far as we agree are identical to the Movits/Brembos and Porsches. Surely it can't be my little maintenance regime of never washing the car, but cleaning and prepping the brakes every 1k miles that makes the difference in lifespan and quality of performance?

I know mine are anodised, but surely it can't make that much difference?

my main problem was that the discs when supplied were warped so i had slight judder from day one, this got worse then they were skimmed and one track day has done them in

I do clean them once a week

not remove pads but jet wash all the holes through

as for the paint, well <beep> is all i can say

Being anodised will definitely be a better option

cheers

I've now done 3 track days & approx 8000 miles on my HiSpecs and apart from some corrosion on the aluminium bolts they are fine. The rotors are slotted not drilled which maybe the difference.

My front Brembos held up well at Donny but rears being standard could do with some tlc now and yes Brembo make the porsche, movit and sprtec calipers.

Cheers Thorney - so does that make Brembo the top of the pile?

I dont believe they make the Sportec Calipers, Andy?

Brembo are top of the pile but it is all to do with franchise deals

So Porshe employed Brembo to make discs and callipers for they. Porshe then agreed to let them sell the product to other aftermarket car people as long as they had a cut, they agreed and market them through the Movit name

Obviously you have people like Abt, MTM etc who do a group deal and then further rebadge them with their own logos

I think sportec did kinda copy the Movit one so I am not sure if they actually are or not

Thats my understanding anyway, and I know its true cos i made it up myself
