No dead serious. You not follow the thread about Doug fitting RS6 brakes on the rear of his S4?

How thick do you think these brackets are then?

They are the ECS tuning caliper move out brackets for the rear of an S4.

10mm steel... TSR used to make caliper plates for MK1 golfs to fit 280mm discs using std calipers. They made a big difference because there is more leverage on the disc as its further away from the centre of the hub. It would make a difference just doing that but obviously larger pads and calipers would be better......

Were any part of the bracket threaded or did it use nut's and bolts?

As Mark said 10mm - if you look closer on the brackets, you can see makings of threads, on the lower holes, radius side,
just as the caliper mounts , with threaded fixture on caliper mounts closer to centre of hub..

from memory they werent threaded. In that kit they gove you longer bolts so you bolted the spacer to the back of the hub and put the bolts through the spacer into the hub and then the caliper carrier bolted to the bracket with bolts and nuts..... was a long time ago though....cant remember exactly and I dont think I have any pics.....

Cant see where it was opposed....? if you go 12 mm.... should still be okay... just might slow you down on acceleration tho.....

Due to the extra weight in another 2mm thickness of plate that is... :D

Increasing the rotational mass will slow me down also :(

Well brakes in general just slow you down...... just discard them...
