Why? The title is remap - In other words, which tuner would you recommend for a remap? In terms of 2 basic criteria - the product, and the customer service. Tick the appropriate box. Fairly straightforward....

And as for suggesting people go and do their own research - Isn't that why we're all here, to help people to decide?

I think you will find it’s actually a personal vendetta against me.
LOL, don't flatter yourself!!!

Look peoples - If you think this poll is useful then you really haven't got a clue. A brave statement, but listen:

- Some companies are better are Stage one maps than others ever will be.
- Some are better at custom maps
- Basically anything that is custom, we should really be taking the complete package into consideration (i.e. Sportec 460 kit, etc)

Oh and finally, this has to be my winning entry "MRC will be the ones to get my money first above the rest, even thought the car has an AMD map at present". Mark, nothing personal mate, but if you did vote for MRC, what wisdom did you use to cast the vote?

Excuse the outburst, but I just can't understand how you can simplify something so complex. Anyway all this chip thing is much of a muchness, the speed of a car is mainly in the driver, and most of us would benefit from spending money on training rather than remaps, etc....

Exactly, it seems to me that unless your opinions fall into that of the crew (sorry, some of the crew), you should shut up and keep quiet.

This is not meant to turn into a slagging match, it was meant to offer informed views to new members.

I'm not sure where people are getting this from? A poll was placed to see who had what remaps and which ones they are happy with. I have had two now and am happy with the second one...so thats what I vote. It is no different to asking for advice on what exhaust to use for example....and to ask this on public forum - is that not what it is there for? If you ain't interested in the answers then don't read the post - no big deal.

If I was looking for an un-biased and rounded public opinion on what tuners people are happy with then this is invaluable - couple it to some investigations and the result is quite conclusive.

One point of note - if Tuners paid attention to this poll then they would be listening to their customers and if they conducted their own self review and acted on it then the graph would be much more linear.....

The research needs to be done into the tuners products, price, location, method of payment, warranty, loan cars, hours of business, type of coffee, plasma screen or tv showroom etc etc.
This poll does nothing in the way of offering a newcomer to the tuning market informed information. There are currently 34 votes and NO information that would honestly assist a newcomer into making an informed decision.

Sorry I had a typo in my post, "MRC will be the ones to get my money first above the rest, even thought the car has an AMD map at present". should have read, "MRC will be the ones to get my money first above the rest, even THOUGH the car has an AMD map at present".

I voted MRC because they are the company I would go to for a remap. The car came with an AMD map, but I wouldn't give them my money dirrectly.

I must agree though that a poll isn't required. 5 minutes reading posts should give an idea where to go and I seem to remember a similar poll was conducted not long ago on the B5 S4 forum.

I would slightly disagree...as one of the things you should surely take into account when choosing a tuner is previous customer satisfaction...given that some of the votes will be posted by previous customers, the poll does provide some information.

To me, I don't care that a tuner may have a showroom, plasma, or whatever...I'd rather have the car receiving the good treatment...

My experiences with Revo tuning my cars over the last few years have been great, and when I've experienced issues (not the fault of their code), they've been really helpful in helping me diagnose and fix the problems.

As for the value of this thread, on the whole, when people get their car remapped will be happy with the results, as they get more power and thus will stick with that tuner. So what the poll will tell us, is more or less which remap most people have had.

If I had enough cash, and time, I'd happily buy a number of ECUs, and get each tuner to put their best map on it, and compare them on my car, which would arguably give a more meaningful result.... for me at least. I don't though, so I'll stick with Revo, as I know them, like the people there, and am very happy with the results.

I disagree completely.....no better way to measure a tuner than on results which, in this case, are almost entirely reflected in peoples opinions. Hence, why this poll is a good indication of tuners success rates - at least with people on the forum (likely to equal the most revenue base for the tuners  )

However, excluding people like Dialynx is not great

Excluded because they are a Revo reseller I think i.e. they do not sell their own maps and Revo is already on the list.

Genius!

Personally I think Poll's like this on Tuners is of use for people like me who have absolutely no experience, just to get an initial feel; of course I would do my own homework first before deciding, but it all helps.
