H&R Coilover suppliers

Post by NeilMc » Tue Oct 18, 2005 4:50 pm

With the impending collapse of the H&R group buy, I assume there will be a few people who still want them. I'm not looking to start a new group buy or anything (don't think it would be allowed now anyway), but I am interested to know how many places in the UK stock them and where has the best price. I'm sure other people are wondering the same thing... anyone offer any help?

I honestly think you will be better off on ebay.de. Like I said, I could have got as many sets as you liked for 670 (inc VAT) delivered
back in July.

Yes, I think the best way is have a tuner supply, fit and align.

The fitting of the suspension is realy not hard. Dont be put of by some tuners who frighten you by suggesting some sort of ritual/black art.

Yes it is advisable to check but in the real world the toe in/out will only need a slight adjustment. Camber etc wll be OK

So long it was OK to start with!!

Phil is right, lots of places can fit suspension and lots of places can do a proper 4 wheel alignment - Get a keen price
(from someone who can actually supply the kits :-) ) and spend the difference on getting it set up right.

I can get suspension fitted here at work and proper 4 wheel alignment done at the bodyshop, but I was under the impression there was more to it than that.

I'm sure you are right Philip, although there have been lots of posts on various forums about ride height, tyre wear and 'special' handling.

If you pick a decent tuner who will do the whole thing, inc. alignment for a sensible price, you will have a high % chance of success and somewhere to go back to with any issues. Just my opinion.

Hi guys - I'm back.

So we're back to the old chestnut - it seems it's really not a big deal to fit and set up, but then on the other hand if someone makes a b***s of it, you get a rocky ride, but then again AmD charge £1,240 fitted...

so where do we go from here...?

Nice one David! Good idea - a bit early for me, and of course your S4 is already nicely fitted with the H&R coilover kit...

Cheers, Clive

940 Euro on this site. This is the company I spoke to in July. He said 22 Euro shipiing then.

I reckon you are looking at about 660GBP all in which I think you will struggle to beat.

You might want to get in touch, see what they can do. You won't have to pay VAT or Duty.
Don't be put off by the fact that they are German - I have had loads of success getting stuff
from Germany (only paid 250 all in for my rollbars)

I am no longer interested - at least until I see my money from the other 'group buy'......
