Removing Cats ...

Post by rweir » Tue Aug 30, 2005 2:28 pm

I was going to remove the cats from my 99 S4 with the full milltek exhaust.

The local garage are telling me that because its on flexi pipe they can't make a joint and would need to burst the current cats, which obviously I don't want to do since I would need to have the put back on for MOT time.

Any ideas anyone? Has this been covered so far? I did a search but could not find anything ...

Cheers

AFAIK, I don't think anyone offers test pipes / cat bypass pipes for the S4 off the shelf. The only mfr I know that offers test pipes as part of an aftermarket kit is APR, this allows you to swap the test pipes for cats at MOT time.

I was hoping that he might have been able to make a couple of pipes up, the guy is a welder by trade so I would have though this would not have been a problem. He says it is due to the flexi pipes .. argg ...
