RS4 v A4 B5 Avant v S4 Avant tail lights

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the RS4's tail lights and the other A4 B5 Avants'. I understand that in 2001 some kind of facelift of the lights happened. Is this true?

No difference between RS4 and A4, only pre-and post facelift around 99
