Mail order tyres... good prices?

Post by Paul-RS » Thu Feb 20, 2003 7:38 pm

Where do you recomend? I will need at least 3 (already bought one due to puncture.. and happy with Michelins)

Mitchilen Pilot Sports 225/40/ZR18 Y rated.

Last one i bought in emergency cost me £165 fitted.

Have sent emails to:

TS.Net Tyre finder
MichelDever

thanks for any advice..

try http://www.mytyres.net (the UK site of ReifenDirekt.com from Germany).
I used their DE service : great prices, cheap and super fast deliveries.

I think they quote £ 143 for the Pilot SPORT 225/40 ZR18 88Y FSL and £ 137.90 for Pilot SPORT 225/40 ZR18 ZR N0,FSL.

I got a quote from Costco Watford.

It was £143.57 per tyre = £574 less £35 off = £134.75. Latest Michelins 225 40 18's, Fully fitted, balanced valves etc. Not sure what it would be for three, ie would the discount still apply.

You need to join though but someone you know may be a member.

best so far £115 + vat fitted. !! so £135.12 each

might as well get 4 for that price and keep the one i had fitted recently as a spare!

its a back street 4x4 off road specialist, that was recommended to me.

Bit of feed back...

Ignore the quote above. "quoted me for 17's" when i went to order...

Cheapest quote by far was from micheldever.co.uk delivered.

Decided i would just go back to my usual dealer, because i know they wont damage my rims.

£165 fitted inc vat each in the end.

Yep, Josh is right...

They are cheap normally and even better when they have an offer on..... I think its Pilots at the moment but it may have changed.

Thats right Paul - so if you want Toyos for example then don't go to Costco.

...............but I think paulS3 is looking for Michelins
