Help needed,
My S4 drives smoothly when pulling away cold. However once warmed up there is a repetitive series of clunks when pulling off slowly in 1st and 2nd. Disappears with speed.
Sorry for the awful description but hopefully you can make some sense of my effort.
It was once very noticeable when crawling in traffic up a hill to a junction in 1st. knock, knock, knock.... a bit like a CV joint which is worn and you are turning on lock.
The diff & box oil have been checked 2days ago during main dealer servicing and were fine?
I did get something similar in my Subaru and was told it was the limited slip diffs engaging??
Anyway, I would be grateful if anyone could shed any light on this or let me know if you too have had the same trouble.

Sounds like a drive-shaft CV joint.....

Thanks Jeff,
I was thinking that, I might try and get the boots off and then check for grease. Otherwise I may wait for it to get louder so I can trace which it is unless you have any good ideas??
P.S Sorry about any misunderstanding on the recent thread.

You just caught me at a bad moment with the other post...I actually edited it out fairly soon afterwards.
As to your possible CV joint issue I don't know what to suggest except to take it to a Audi Specialised for them to have a look. Should be obvious which one is knocking once its off it's wheels.
