Stasis Motorsport Suspension Installed
Stasis Motorsport Suspension Installed
I have now replaced my H&R PCS kit with the Stasis Motorsport Kit.
http://www.stasisengineering.com/b5s4-s.shtml
First impressions (300 miles yesterday) are they are very impressive.
The car does not crash into or over bumps anymore but also feels much stiffer in turns, ie less body roll, the car just feels much better on the road not at all nervous or bouncy even on bad roads.
It will be interesting to see how much different they feel when stiffened right up on the track.
The dampers have seperate bump and rebound adjustment, with 32 positions (bit more than the H&R), I am currently running around mid range so plenty left to play with.
I have also looked at the geometry settings and have settled at the following after a lot of discussion with Stasis and other guys in the states as they seem to be much more advanced on this :
Front:
Ride Height : 25.5" (measured floor to wheelarch along wheel centre), any lower than this and you will see bump steer
Camber : -1.5 Deg (Function of ride height)
Toe : 1.0mm Toe in
Rear
Ride Height : 25.625"
Camber : -1.0 Deg
Toe : 0.0
The turn in is much better and I have not lost any high speed stability.
Once I get the adjustable front links on the Front camber will be increased to -2.5Deg with +9 Deg Castor which should improve the turn in further hopefully these will be on for Slipperystone.

Hi Dave,
The reservoirs are routed to around the old intercooler position, easy to adjust through my quick
release (or non existant) side grills and will be kept cool to keep the damping constant.
Stasis place them in the engine bay on the false firewall but you need to either a, cut a hole to fit them through or b, remove from the hose and then re-pressurise (need specialist kit) as they run with around 7 bar of nitrogen.
Will post up some pics next week as I am planning to finish off this and the grills over the weekend.
Fitted by QST at the same time as the Movit rears.

Stasis kit
What spring rates did you choose and what ARB's are you going to run?
Bem,
For the stasis install the only issue would be getting the remote res into the engine bay if this is where you want it, need to either cut a hole in the inner wing or disconnect the res, this however need to be re-pressurised etc.
No photos I am afraid for this.
For the FMIC I have loads of photos, PM me your email and I can send them, this install just needs time to get it right.
S4RS4
I have gone for 650lb front and 750lb rear with H&R ARB's

Prawn,
What is your spring ratio F&R on your Olins ???
I just wondering if you can tell me to increase the caster up to +9 that almost max comparing to app. 4.5 stock . I guess I know the reason on the adj. front links in additional up to -2.5 camber. What will be effected on the steeling, more smooth/ or understeeling.
Thanks

+9 castor = Turn in, Turn in , Turn in,
At least thats the theory.
In the RS4 you want as much grip as you can get in the front, they are doing all the work. The rears, well they are pretty much along for the ride.
You will only get that castor with adjustable links.
Better turn in, more grip, at least thats the idea.
