It is interesting that most people have had 4 pot monoblock, as the monoblock is an improvement over the split caliper, but the rear upgrade is only available in split calipers

Re: Front brake upgrades for the RS4
What was the official view of Split Vs Mono block????
Looking at the TS.net Movit Group buy for my S3 as an example.......
Slit appears better than monoblock in this case...
bigger piston... and bigger pad surface area for same given disk...
I was always told monoblock was the preferred choice.... now im not so sure..

S3:
322*32 4S3
4pots diameter: 36 and 44mm
75.5 cm braking surface
price:1725Euro or 1,144.22 GBP
322*32 4M5
4pots diameter: 36 and 40mm
72.5 cm braking surface
price:1613Euro or 1,069.93 GBP
where the 4S3 kit is the best since it got slightly bigger pistons (pots) and a bigger brake surface and it gets less hot than the 4M5 type kit

Re: Front brake upgrades for the RS4
Paul, you have an odd example there
mono are alledgedly an improvement on split as they dont allow a build up of road dirt and salt where the pads are held in, which on splits may stop the pads moving correctly
but then the increased area and braking force is definitely the way to go

Re: Front brake upgrades for the RS4
one person has voted for the 6 pot upgrade
How do you find these?
Any problems with the standard rims?

Waaah, where's the option for Brembo 4 pot monobloc
After all Brembo make all the others, they must keep the best stuff for their own brand
