Auto Door Lock

A friend who is a ADT changed my car yesterday so when I get to 10 mph it locks the doors. It does this when you first pull off, but if I stop, let a passenger out, then pull away (without stopping engine in between), is the door supposed to re-lock? Because it doesn't ! My door doesn't re-lock either.

I was almost sure the Golf used to lock [img]images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Also, does having this feature on invalidate the Thatcham Insurance approval? I had an Escort GTi with a Clifford Concept 50 alarm. It said in the hand book, that if I activate the 'Blackjacks' (need a code etc. if door is opened then you pull away, it would run for a minute then stop without code) that this removes the approval and is no longer valid !?!?!?!?!!?!?!!??!!?!

The later B6 chassis will relock. My B5 (2000my) won't.
I guess this is something Audi changed...

Officially it's 15mph, which is what mine seems to be. It only does it the first time, so your operation is correct.

Also..

One unlock press on the remote, ONLY unlocks the drivers door. Two, and then all Doors.

One press on mine opens the two front (S3 [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]) and the boot.

I wonder if its a setting you can change?

I'm sure my friends Golf locks again when you move, but it is a bit newer than mine!

You can change all that stuff - ask a friendly dealer or find someone with VAG-COM...
