Suspension advice
Call me synical, but it is easy for 'top-of-the-range' products to become the 'kit of choice'. Apart from the price, the fact that the PSS9s have adjustable damping convinces me NOT to have them: I already have OCD for many things, and I don't want yet more insomnia worrying about whether or not I have the right settings!

Adjustable damping is ideal especially when you want to go lower than usual, or use your car for both street use, and trackdays, as you can adjust accordingly.
The PSS9's are very easy to adjust, as they only have one adjustment for both bound, and rebound, unlike KW V3's which have several individual settings.
Each to their own, but thats my 2p's worth!

Adjustable is the way to go so that you can adjust to your new taste, straight coilover springs mean you can buy aftermarket from any supplier - £30 each.
With the above in mind - Stasis is the best bet, try looking at TEIN, they use straight springs, and have a very good rep.
The main thing is adjustable rebound, comp is not needed.

I know it's an old thread, but I've been doing a little reading on this subject myself now. There is a huge difference in cost between the Bilstein and say the Eibach kits. £880 ish for Eibach and around £1600 for the Bilstein. It's not an issues as I still can't afford the Eibach setup
, but I think it'll be the first mod I go for. The heart says ECU remap - the head says get the ageing suspension sorted first!
Must listen to head, must listen to head.....etc.......

suspension first, power second, it wll feel like a remap anyway! you will be taking corners faster and braking later.
unless you really need height/comp/rebound adjustment get a decent set of coils and springs but to be honest. although sayiong that I run KWV3's and love them. bit harsh but then it keeps the wife out of my car!
set of poly bushes are a must IMO. no point having super slick suspension if your geometry is floating around on shagged ten year old bushes.

Re: Suspension advice
Hi all, I appreciate this is an old thread, but sadly I am now in need of suspension repairs. My local rip off merchants want nearly 1500 quid for both front shocks, flexible pipes and recharge. Pressure valves are ok as there's still 10 bar in the front. My question is as follows, I drive hard on the road, I like playing, no track days and not going to be, so which set up? Standard shocks, or upgrade to aftermarket? If I go aftermarket, is a anti roll bar upgrade needed too?
I have been seduced slightly my MikeFish's post on his project and am tempted to follow down a similar path.
Any thoughts and guidance is gratefully received.
Thanks all
